Single-Patient Approach

Our concept is founded on the principle that controlling contaminants at the source prevents the spread of infections. By containing body fluids within the patient’s environment, we minimize the risks of splattering and messes that can lead to cross-contamination. Our supports, combined with Hygienic Covers equipped with a super-absorbent pad, have been proven effective worldwide for many years.

Our products:
Prevent transmission to asymptomatic patients Help combat multidrug-resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) bacteria, as well as Clostridium difficile spores Significantly reduce staff response time Offer an economical alternative Provide a complete, reliable solution designed for single-patient use Are endorsed by microbiologists, infectious disease specialists, infection control nurses, hygienists, government authorities, and numerous scientific publications

With no need for infrastructure, they are easy to implement and integrate seamlessly into any setting.

Wet Wash Glove

Our gloves are designed to minimize exposure to pathogens and prevent cross-contamination. Traditional patient cleaning methods using water in portable containers still pose significant contamination risks, prompting many healthcare institutions to shift toward disposable solutions. A 2012 study published in the American Journal of Infection Control revealed that two-thirds of washing containers were contaminated with infectious pathogens.

Whether addressing urinary tract infections, crosscontamination, or the challenges of cleaning reusable equipment, our hygienic system provides a ready-to-use,m disposable solution ideal for reducing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

Commode Chair System

Hygie’s Commode/Bedside Chair systems are designed in line with the latest best practices for preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Traditional commodes with upholstered seats and solder joints are difficult to clean and disinfect properly, making them unsuitable for healthcare settings.

Our two chair models are widely recommended and used in hospitals across North America for their effectiveness in ensuring better hygiene and safety.

Vomit System

In care units, emergency rooms, or paramedical services, emesis containers—often referred to as kidney basins and traditionally made of plastic or cardboard—are commonly used. However, these options are far from ideal, frequently leading to spills, contamination, and extensive cleaning.

Explore Hygie’s innovative solutions designed to reduce the time spent handling vomit and eliminate contamination risks, offering a more efficient and hygienic alternative.

Hygienic Toilet Bowl Cover

Converts a standard toilet into a dry, flush-free system. These covers are ideal for safely disposing of urine and stools that contain biocides, radioactive materials, or chemotherapeutic agents.

Perfect for sample collection or situations without water access, they are designed to solidify up to 700 ml of waste (including urine, diarrhea, blood, or serous fluid) within seconds.

Hanging Scale

The hanging scale is designed to measure the weight of bodily fluids (urine, stool, vomit) collected in Hygienic Covers®. It can be mounted on the wall near the entrance of a patient’s room or placed at the central station of a healthcare unit for easy access.

Faye Brekelmans, CIC - Infection Preventionist

“Several staff members indicated that they really like the new Hygie bag because it prevents the risk of
splashing themselves when dumping urine or feces. Some units have started using the Hygie bag on all patients
requiring a bedpan, rather than just for specific indications, to prevent passing infections to other patients. In
addition, it has reduced the odor in patient care areas associated with frequent handling of stool and bedpans.”
